Chelsea finds itself at the center of a major scandal as the English Football Association (FA) has charged the club with 74 alleged breaches linked to agents, intermediaries, and third-party investments in players. The case could result in severe sanctions.

The investigation covers transactions between 2009 and 2022, with most irregularities occurring under Roman Abramovich’s ownership. The FA claims that the club violated multiple regulations governing agents and third-party involvement in football. Chelsea has until September 19 to present its defense.

Although the charges concern the previous era, the new owners have taken a proactive stance. In an official statement, the club revealed that during the 2022 takeover process, they themselves uncovered potential irregularities and reported them to the authorities. Chelsea insists it has been fully cooperating with the FA and regulatory bodies since then.

The outcome remains uncertain, but the scale of the accusations could have significant sporting and financial consequences for the Blues.
