Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, is determined to secure a marquee signing before his tenure concludes. While names like Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz have been linked to the club, the ultimate dream remains Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has long been a target for Barça, and Laporta has been strategically working towards bringing him to the Spotify Camp Nou in either 2025 or 2026.

As reported by 'SPORT', initial contact between Barça and Haaland’s camp began in March 2021, when Alfie Haaland and Mino Raiola, Haaland’s former agent, sought new opportunities for the rising star. Despite Haaland's meteoric rise and his current status as one of football's elite, Laporta has not given up on his ambition to see Haaland don the Blaugrana colors.

Laporta envisions two major signings to celebrate the opening of the revamped Spotify Camp Nou, with Haaland being at the top of that list. The relationship between the Barcelona president and Haaland's current agent, Rafaela Pimenta, could be crucial in achieving this, especially with Manchester City facing potential sanctions and the uncertain future of Pep Guardiola.

Meanwhile, Nico Williams remains a key option for Barça, but Erling Haaland remains the true crown jewel. With Robert Lewandowski performing at a high level but approaching the twilight of his career, Haaland is viewed as the ideal long-term replacement.
