The INEOS group, majority shareholder of Manchester United, has terminated the ambassadorial contract of the club’s legendary former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. According to The Athletic, Ferguson earned €2.6 million annually from this role.

Despite this, Ferguson will continue his association with the club as a non-executive director and will retain his privileges to attend all matches at Old Trafford.

This move is part of INEOS's strategy to cut costs after several underwhelming seasons for the historic English club.
