Tchouaméni’s resurgence: from criticism to becoming a Real Madrid key player

Aurélien Tchouaméni’s football journey has taken a dramatic turn in recent months. Once heavily criticized, the French midfielder has now won over the Real Madrid faithful. Speaking to MARCA, Tchouaméni expressed gratitude toward both Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso for their trust and guidance.

“I’m happy with Xabi. He has brought new ideas for me and for the team, but things have been going much better since the beginning of 2025. With Carlo, I was already comfortable, but now it’s about focusing on each game, helping my teammates, and continuing to grow,” he said.

Asked about the difference between the two managers, Tchouaméni replied: “Of course, there are differences — each has his own style and vision — but both are great coaches.”

On international duty with France, the midfielder impressed during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, he remains cautious: “We can’t think qualification is already secured. The group is strong, and we must take it step by step.”

Back in Madrid, Tchouaméni is now preparing for Saturday’s LaLiga clash against Real Sociedad in San Sebastián.
