FC Nantes Faces Coaching Dilemma After Sergio Conceição Rejection

Under pressure after a string of disappointing results in Ligue 1, FC Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré will remain in charge at least until the end of the year. However, the club is already working behind the scenes to identify his successor.

Conceição Declines a Return

Nantes’ top choice was Sergio Conceição, who previously coached the club during the 2016-2017 season. However, according to Ouest-France, the Portuguese manager—currently without a club since leaving FC Porto in June—has rejected the Canaries' offer.

New Names on the Table

With Conceição out of the picture, Nantes is reportedly negotiating with Habib Beye, who is also currently unattached. Additionally, the club is in talks with another French coach, though their identity has not yet been disclosed.

Nantes’ Struggles in Ligue 1

Currently sitting in 14th place, Nantes’ poor performances this season have put significant pressure on Kombouaré and the club’s leadership to turn things around. Securing a new coach will be key to improving their standing in the league and stabilizing their future.
